| Grapes: Petite Sirah ( in this case I think it is Durif ) 6 months in big oak barrels. Probably french. Color: Dark red-black-purple, good depth and intensity. Nose: Intens aromas of ripe crowberry and black plum going on prune, violets, black pepper, dried basil or anis, weak of matured meat, some vanilla and oak. Palate: Full bodied, juicy and a little meaty fruit that follows the smell, good consentration and balancing acidity, fine tannins, actualy a long finish of ripe blackberry, crowberry and the same black prune, some pepper, anis, coffee, leather and very pleasant oak. Foodmatch: Allround meat dishes. Cellaring: 0-1 year. Very good value. I understand this wine has changed a lot from vintage to vintage, but now they have got the hang of it. 6 usd | |
