Member of the vitis lambrusca family and called "America*s original dessert wine" , this wine comes from an area of the United States not known for their (vitis vinifera) wines. This wine had a transparent red color and had a pungent nose of strawberry and grape jam. On the palate it was sweet to semi-sweet with an acidity which was partially due to acetic acid (vinegar). Short but very fruity indeed.
One glass is certainly enough of this wine.
Surprisingly enough, this wine was not as bad as I feared.
Bought at the vineyard for about $6 (I believe I was told) | |
