| 1996 Grapes: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30%Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc. Color: Dark red with orange rim, good depth, medium intensity. Nose: Dark forest berries, black currant, cedar, oak, barnyard, chocolate, coffee, earth. Palate: Big body, soft juicy fruit of distinct black currant, rich heavy fruit, very good structure gives good balance against all the fruit, long finish. Barnyard and leather. Foodmatch. Rich dishes of game. Cellaring: 0- 10 years. Very nice wine but very expensive in Norway. 2000 Grapes: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Color: Dark red with blue, good depth, and intensity. Nose: A little closed yet, medium fruit, a lot of oak, leather. Palate: Full bodied, good structure, not very exiting fruit, it has a very rustic finish. Foodmatch: Red meats. Cellaring: 3-5 years, maybe better then. I have to say disepointing after the 1996. | |
