| This is a ripasso style wine, made from partialy dried grapes. The first ever Primitivo of this kind I taste. Color: Dark red, good depth. Nose: Smells surpriseingly like a medoc wine, blackcurrant, cherry and the same kind of earthiness as medoc. very nicely oaked, some blackberry showing after a while. Palate: Full bodied, good concentration, quite cool fruit, medium tannin, good balancing acidity, showing the same fruitpicture as in the nose, nice oak and a medium long finish, firm, some earthiness. Foodmatch: Allround Cellaring: 0-5 years. This wine was a very good new experience. It is like a very good medocwine actualy. It shows like a rase medoc, just add a touch of mature blackberry to that image and you have this wine in a nutshell. Bravo, Da Capo. 14 usd. | |
