| Grapes: 100% Sangiovese Color: Red with some brown showing, good depth, medium intensity. Nose: consentrated fruit of dark forest berries, nice noble wood, some truffel and spices, sweet tobacco, stables. Palate: Full bodied, consentrated maturing forest berries, very good structure and balance, not the sweet fruit you would expect from 1997, long complex finish, the tannins are starting to melt down, leather, tobacco, stables, quite strict. Foodmatch: Game, lamb, cow, Taligiano cheese. Very good buy, 49 USD in Norway, because of the good structure the producer has in this wine in a warm year. Have tasted many Brunellos 1997 that has a vulgar sweet fruit and no acidity. | |
