| Grapes: 45% CASTELÃO, 35% TINTA RORIZ, 15% TOURIGA NACIONAL, 5% ALICANTE BOUCHET Color: dark red, good depth. Nose: Black plum, black cherry, some vanilla and carnation flowers, bark, some leather, some barnyard, some earthy minerals, slightly of beefstock and oak. Palate: Full bodied, mature sweet and sour fruit, distinct of tannins that are still quite dry but fine, very good acidity that balances the wine perfectly, dry, firm but still long and fresh finish. Foodmatch: Now it has to be used for red meat dishes with a lot of fat because of the tannins. Would be perfect for a dish I had in Oporto, a simple rustic and traditional dish of beef and potatoes baked in the owen with a lot of olive oil and onions. Rustic food needs a rustic wine, its that simple. Cellaring: Will age very good I thik, 0-10 years, maybe 15. Portugal is really to look out for. | |
