Grapes: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
Color: Dark red, medium depth and intensity.
Nose: Quite complex the nose, Cherry, blackcurrant, dried acid fruit, some spices, wood, vanilla, white pepper, some barnyard and leather, even some pencil.
Palate: Not complex in the mouth, quite slim, medium bodied but good fruitconcentration, medium tannins, high acidity, quite long fresh acid finish with pleseant notes of earth and wood.
Foodmatch: Butterfried red and white meat with fat sauces. Creambased caserolls.
Cellaring: Drink now.
A typical clairet from the old days, high acidity, so its nothing for the modern palate, but more for the acid freaks amongst us. Or if you want to experience how a bordeaux usualy tasted before.
